jump, jump, jump around

Jumpsuits - the mandatory wardrobe staple.

There's something about jumpsuits; perhaps it has the ability to elongate my Asian legs. Whatever it is, I'm glad it's sticking around.

Fashion is constantly changing and evolving and in the words of Heidi Klum herself - "one minute you're in, and the next, you're out". Thus, in order to "keep up" with all the trends, the basic one-piece garment also evolves through prints, cuts, patterns etc

I wore this outfit to my (one of many) birthday lunch with the girls. It is, in fact, a matching two-piece worn as a jumpsuit ;)

Wearing; Sheike fashion singlet + matching trousers, patent brogues, my favourite blazer from local Vietnamese designer purchased in Vietnam, thrifted vintage belt, Marc by Marc Jacobs clutch and rings by Marc by Marc Jacobs and Asos.

signor valentino

"Too many people spend money they haven't earned, to buy things they don't want, to impress people they don't like" -Will Smith

In my case, I spend money I haven't earned to buy things I really want

Valentino, you're killing it (my life)! Please, dear Santa, any of the above for Christmas will suffice!

Some happy snaps from Sculptures by the sea 2012.

lucky.

If you've been paying attention, you will notice that I have a new blog banner.

This has been in the works for quite some time.

At one stage or another: I was contemplating whether I should pay a professional, futilely attempt to create one myself or even ask a few talented friends for their assistance!

How sluggish of me to not even consider asking the person right in front of me!

Meet the boy. This is the face behind all my photos (he prefers landscapes and street photography and absolutely hates taking photos for me ha ha ha).

The final product is everything I wanted and more! Every little detail in this creation epitomises who I am and what I hope to achieve with this blog.

Every component of this picture signifies something vital:
1. Asian girl - I used to have straight bangs, this is was my signature look!
2. Insatiable appetite
3. Shopping addiction
4. Chanel Classic Jumbo - a 25th birthday gift from the boy himself
5. Lady in red
6. My trusty canon s100
7. Even down to the Tiffany&co bracelet! - Talk about an eye for detail!!!

I cannot express, no matter how many times, how lucky I am! Thank you x

one fine day.

Would you drive over an hour just for lunch?

I would. I live for that moment.

I live for the amazing taste of what could possibly be, the greatest banana smoothie ever.

Get yourself to the Boathouse Restaurant in Palm beach this Summer.
At the Boathouse, you can enjoy a nice lunch overlooking the water.

schwarzkopf and gastro.

When you combine a leading household name such Schwarzkopf with one of Sydney's current "IT" restaurant, you know you're in for a wonderful ride.

On Thursday, Adeline and I attended the Schwarzkopf launch event of their new product - Shake it up Colour Foam at the amazing Gastro Park. This new permanent hair product is supposed to be easy to use (like shampoo, said the Schwarzkopf speaker) and is available in 12 trendy shades.

The event was a success with great atmosphere, amazing food by the acclaimed chef - Grant King, and generous choice of cocktails (the cherry sour was divine)!

Bonus? Jesinta Campbell as the MC and a photobooth :)

So, on Friday, for the first time in my life, I dyed my own hair! I used the "Dark Cherry" shade and it was as easy as 1,2,3! Look out for my next post to see the final result :)

butterflies, sunshine and macarons

The following news should excite both foodies and fashionistas - the launched of Laduree, delivered straight from Paris!

Laduree is now available in Sydney (Westfield Sydney, near Mulberry). I'd give it a few more weeks for the hype to fritter away, otherwise, be prepared to line up for a good 30-45 minutes!

On another note, the boy lined up for just under an hour and surprised me with 2 Laduree boxes and my favourite candle scent from diptyque.

Oh, and the picture above was captured on Sunday - after a nice sunny brunch at Bill's.

now stealing his tshirt.

Firstly, LOOK!!! I'm finally taking photos during the day and away from the car park! Okay, so not that far away - these were taken just outside the car park on the driveway =P

Secondly, considering the last post was on the topic of masculine chic, I thought I'd continue the trend here.

I recall one of the first-ever conversation I had with the boy was regarding "girls in white jeans/pants". To men, white is the epitome of sexy. I spent a great deal of time trying to fathom this statement. I finally get it.

There are two possible reasons:
1. White stands for purity - perhaps, men prefers uncharted territories.
2. White represents a mystery. Men wants to imagine what lies beneath (so this point is a little R rated).

...and in the words of Ryan Lochte himself, the second sexiest piece of clothing on a woman is white jeans! The first sexiest piece of clothing on a woman, according to Ryan, is in one of his button-down shirts - masculine chic!!!

Wearing; J Brand white jeans, topshop booties, Moschino belt, Boyfriend's vintage Led Zeppelin shirt, Colette white clutch and Lioness mustard blazer

if i was your boyfriend.

If I was to answer the million dollar question - how would you describe your style - I would, sum it up masculine chic.

Contradicting? Yes, as I am often seen in high heels, blinged-up accessories, floral and "pretty" dresses.

Nonetheless, I find myself "liking" and feeling inspired by masculine-chic style. I love the oversized jumper, the oversized shirt, pegged-trousers with a feminine blouse, the loose singlet, the combat boots, tailored suits paired with pumps, blazers, oxfords, rugged jeans and...the list is endless!

On me:
Camilla & Marc metallic blazer, Blank NYC boyfriend's jeans (shopbop), neon yellow necklace (forever new), ankle buckle boots, knuckle ring (asos) and white clutch (colette).

one direction.

Inconsistency - the state of blogging every 3 weeks is tragic, I know.

Three (3) weeks amounts to 10000000 years in bloggersphere.

Which led me to thinking, maybe I am not cut for blogging?

I've noticed a trend, as long as bloggers are consistently blogging, in whatever path they've chosen; food, fashion, beauty etc - whether I agree or disagree with their taste, style, writing and so forth - they seem to make the cut and make themselves known in the industry. Good on them.

I sometimes find it difficult to (feasibly) do the following:
1. Who has the time to take photos of my outfits every time?
2. Do fashion bloggers "really" wear heels throughout the day?
3. I'd normally dress up for night time events - how can I capture them in beautiful lighting?
4. Where can I conveniently find a nice location for a photoshoot with trees and leaves and grass every time?
5. How can you have photoshoots when you work 5 days a week, comes home after dark and juggle a social life on weekends?

These are the questions I battle with before I can become a successful fashion blogger. I welcome any tips from fellow bloggers.

For now, I shall leave you with shots in my car park!

Pants - green palazzo wide leg pants from Asos
Bag -  brown zara tote

the 4th powerpuff girl.

Stepped out to high tea in this outfit on Sunday. I think it's the only outfit I've ever worn with no designer pieces - even accessories! Puffy sleeves top acquired from Vietnam, skirt from a vintage store, shoes from a random place, clutch from Asos, bangles from local market + H&M!

**disclaimer** statement made above excludes contents inside the clutch =P
